Alexandra Davis
Vice Mayor of Miramar
Vice Mayor Davis spent her life in public service and has served on various Miramar boards including the Education and Planning and Zoning Boards. She has also created a youth apprenticeship program, ensured all schools in Miramar have school resource officers, and formed a nonprofit organization called the Caribbean American Teachers Association of Florida. She is also a certified teacher.
I look forward to working with Vice Mayor Davis to better the lives and learning outcomes of children in Miramar and across Broward.

Mike Ryan
Mayor of Sunrise
Mayor Ryan has been serving as Sunrise’s Mayor since 2010 and has earned degrees in finance and law. He is a long-time resident of Sunrise and has served as PTA president and youth soccer volunteer coach for Sawgrass Elementary School. He has also served as Chair of the Education Advisory Board of Sunrise.
His leadership efforts in promoting community-based chess has led to the City of Sunrise earning the national title of “Chess City 2015” by the United States Chess Federation. Besides being involved with numerous boards in Broward County and receiving many awards for community involvement, Mayor Ryan has engaged in many charitable works such as traveling to Haiti to volunteer to help residents there and traveling overseas to help wounded soldiers.

Katie Edwards
Past Florida State Representative – Davie/Plantation/Sunrise
State Rep. Katie was one of the most effective, hard working, and accomplished legislators in our state. Even with the challenges of getting things done in Tallahassee, Katie has a proven track record of success including criminal justice reform and medical marijuana programs for patients suffering from several illnesses. Among many other things, I also admire her relentless support for both large and small businesses in the state.

Neil Kerch
Commissioner of Sunrise
Commissioner Kerch is a long time resident of Sunrise and received his J.D. in 2005 from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University. He is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida. Commissioner Kerch has served as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County and a Senior Associate Trial Lawyer at the law firm of Anidjar & Levine. He also has his own law office, Law Office of Neil C. Kerch, LLC.
Commissioner Kerch is a member of numerous professional associations and organizations. He has been a youth athletics coach for the children of Sunrise and has served on the City’s Leisure Services Advisory Board. Thank you Commissioner Kerch for your support and endorsement.

Ron Jacobs
President of Plantation City Council
City of Plantation Councilman Ron Jacobs was first elected to Plantation City Council in 1993 serving several times as Council President. Ron received his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern. He has a business background that includes law, real estate investing, financial markets and computers. Ron Jacobs is well respected by residents and leaders in our county. I am honored to have his endorsement.

Rabbi Dr. Sheldon Harr
Founding Rabbi Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El
Rabbi Harr is the founding Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El, Broward’s largest Jewish congregation. Rabbi Harr earned a Doctor of Ministry from Emory University and an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Hebrew Union College.
Rabbi Harr currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Broward Partnership for the Homeless. He also served as president of the West Broward Religious Leaders Fellowship and vice-chair of the Urban League.
Rabbi Harr led the National Rabbinic Cabinet of Jewish National Fund, served on many national commissions and boards and conducted seminars and programs at national conventions of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the CCAR. In addition, he has served as president of the Southeast Region of the CCAR, and has been a member of the boards of the Jewish Federation, The Jewish Family and Children’s Service, and many other community organizations. Yvette Colbourne
Commissioner of Miramar
Commissioner Yvette Colbourne of the City of Miramar has endorsed Dr. Jeff Holness.
Commissioner Yvette Colbourne was elected to the City of Miramar Commission in 2013 and served as Vice Mayor for the City in 2014. Commissioner Colbourne also represents the city on the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) board and on the Broward League of Cities. She has 30 years of public service experience with Miami-Dade County serving as a member of a County executive team that successfully managed a $600 million budget and up to 2,000 employees. Commissioner Colbourne has a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Commissioner Colbourne also served her community as President of her homeowners association for 10 years; Vice Chair of the City of Miramar Economic Development Board; member of the Civil Service Advisory Board; and served as a member on the Broward County Diversity Committee.

Assistant Deputy Mayor Scuotto participates in the Broward County School Board’s Partners in Education program and has sponsored numerous civic organizations and charities, including the American Cancer Association, the Dan Marino Foundation and the Paralyzed Veterans Association of Florida. In addition, he is the president of the Sunrise Italian-American Civic Association. Commissioner Scuotto has been actively involved in his community and city including serving as Chair of the Florida League of Cities’ Environmental Quality Committee and on the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development Steering Committee. He is also the Chair of the South Florida Regional Planning Council. In addition, he is a small business owner of Scuotto’s Pizza & Pasta in Sunrise.

Lorenzo Wood
High School Assistant Principal/North Lauderdale Commissioner
Commissioner Wood is a long time Broward Public School educator and current Assistant Principal at Coral Glades High School in Coral Springs. Prior to becoming an administrator, Commissioner Wood was a social studies teacher and department chairperson at Tequesta Trace Middle School, Weston. He was selected Teacher of the Year in 1995. He was also a high school administrator at Coral Springs High School before moving on to becoming Assistant Principal at Coral Glades High School.Mr, Wood has served on many committees at the school and district levels. He has also served on many community boards in the City of North Lauderdale and is currently President of the Hunter Run Homeowners Association. I am so honored to receive the endorsement of such a committed long time Broward Public School educator and administrator as well as a true public servant of his City of North Lauderdale.
